The sunflower is immortalised on the mug in different ways, enabling you to sense the movement it goes through during the day: The open flower stands towards the sun from the early morning and moves during the day to catch as much sun as possible. At the end of the day, the sunflower turns towards the west. Then, during the night, it turns towards the east and waits patiently for the first rays of sun to return. The motifs are made by artist Rikke Jacobsen on the Hammershøi tableware's existing pieces designed by Hans-Christian Bauer.
