Al Majan Collection of set of 6 tells the story of the Copper and Diorite mining in the UAE has a rich history dating back from at least 4000 years ago and to this day plays a significant role in the UAE Economy. The Copper ore was extracted from the mountains primarily Hajar range and smelted in furnaces, poured into molds casted and shaped in to ingots, tools and other items. Then transported by camels to the coast where the copper items were loaded onto ships. Sailing along the coastal waterways and sea to reach Mesopotamia the journey required skilled navigation.
